Hey Guys! I hope you all had a productive week.
September is here and the feeling is bitter-sweet for me. My favorite season is summer so I am sad to see it go, but my favorite season for fashion is FALL! I especially love this time of year when the upcoming trends start to present itself and I get to mentally plan outfits with whats in at the moment. I know this won’t be news to some but it looks like this fall and winter’s “It Print” is checked/plaid/tartan! Specifically these prints in grey and brown tones. Tartan, a form of plaid, is a very classic pattern and is present every fall and winter season, but I think we will be seeing a lot more of it this year.
Below is an Alexander Wang blazer ($1395) that pretty much sums up the chicness of this trend! This print will be big in blazers and jackets but I encourage you to have some fun with it in all types of clothing pieces and even accessories. Next to it is an Alexander Wang mini skirt ($545). These photos were courtesy of Barney.com.
The straight and loose cut of this type of blazer is sure to be flattering on most body types and can easily be worn dressed up with a skirt and heels OR dressed down with denim cut-off shorts and booties. I can even see this working perfectly with a white tee with blue jeans or a black turtle neck and dark washed jeans. The possibilities are endless!
Below is a more form fitting blazer that will also flatter every woman. This pieces is from Balmain ($1695). This photo was also courtesy of Barneys.com.
I know, I know, this trend is cute! I prefer to get trendy pieces at a budget friendly prices since a lot of times they are only popular for a season or 2, then they just take up space in your closet. The almost $1700 Balmain blazer may be within your budget, but I know for a lot of us, that is more of an investment piece price range. So I have found 10 pieces from one of my favorite online shopping sites, Asos, that are all under $65! There is a little bit of everything on this list (except shoes, that may come later!) so I hope you can find the perfect piece or pieces to participate in this trend with.

What do you think of these items?! I love #2 (strappy jumpsuit) because I can see myself wearing at it as-is right now as the weather will start to transition into fall in the upcoming weeks. Then I would throw on a black fitted turtleneck top underneath with tights and thigh-high boots for the colder months! I may need to add this piece to my closet before it sells out.
I also love options #9 (scarf) and #10 (tote) because they are perfect for those who would love to try out this trend, but only dip the toe in at first. Accessories are always good for that! You can try a trend without committing to it being all over your body.
Below I have 2 more pieces from Asos, which I adore! They are slightly over $65 so they did not make it onto the list above but they were too good to leave out!
The Blazer on the left is a flattering length and the 3/4 length sleeves are perfect for now when it is cool in the evenings but not quite cold yet. This blazer is $77 and linked here. The pants on the right are just gorgeous! I am obsessed with cropped wide leg pants lately and this one is perfect. I also like the high waist aspect of it with the large buckled belt. It will look great with a plain light top or with a chunky sweater with boots that disappear up underneath the leg of the pant. The pant is $67 and linked here.
