I hope your days are long and sunny! As I anticipate swapping out my dark, heavy clothes for my lighter, cheerier items, I can’t help but notice what trends have come back to play this year! I love having classic pieces that are relevant any year and anywhere, but it is quite fun dabbling in the trends as well! One that I am glad is back this year is the satin trend.
Why I’m all here for the satin trend
TIMELESS. One reason I am hear for this trend is because it also falls into the timeless category! Yes, in the last few years it has been seen on more runways and street styles but satin dresses has always been a chic, feminine power look for many generations. It just screams old Hollywood to me and I like it! It can be glammed up or dressed all the way down.
COZY. I also love how comfortable these pieces are! I have eczema so the heavy, moisture sucking materials I wear all winter really dry my skin out. I just love how satin and other silky materials just graze my skin so softly and delicately and does not make me itch!
FLATTERING. I am not sure if it’s just me, but I find this type of material so flattering if you get the right pieces. The dresses and skirts just flow off the curves of your body and move so smoothly when you are in motion. It’s like wearing art! I know, I know, I may be taking it a bit far but I do love them!
And like any other trend I try out, I am a fan of keeping it simple and low cost. I like to invest more into classic pieces and spend less of trendy items that are only “in” for a short while. Don’t get me wrong, I will definitely still wear an item well after the trend has moved on, but in the event I don’t, I do not want to spend more than needed.
