Welcome to my Day 2 of NYFW!
Today I attended a free New York Fashion Week show at Hotel Pennsylvania hosted by PLITZS. I brought my mother along as my +1 as we headed into the busy city on a Saturday. I wanted to experience a free event and see if I could still feel the NYFW excitement while being so far away from the main show locations. PLITZS had multiple shows each day of Fashion Week which showcased garments from designers of varying expertise. These designers are students, grads or simply fashion enthusiasts with a passion for creating. My look for this evening are at the bottom of this post.
Below are some of the looks:

I honestly did not know what to expect from a free event but I do not regret going. You get what you pay for, or not pay for in this case. I was not expecting to be blown away with a posh venue with high ceiling or the “it girl/guy” models strutting down the runway in Marchesa. But what I do like about attending these events is being there to support someone’s dream and to witness their hard work on display as they peek from behind the curtain with pride and nerves written all over their faces. Even if I do not know the designers, I know the struggle of being a young budding entrepreneur chasing a dream, and I will always support someone as I wish strangers would for me.
My favorite look of the night was this beautiful number:
My look for this day was brought to you by H&M, Zara and Asos (all of my go-to spots for my wardrobe). My intended look for the day was a 2 pieces shorts and blazer set that did not come together as I would have liked at the last minute. So I decided to use this opportunity to try something I often shy away from, mixing prints! I just did not have the time to locate the shoes and tops that I had in mind as my plan B ensemble. So I decided to rock a polka dot and mesh top, flared ruffle hemmed pants, and small floral print booties. What a mix! But I think it worked. Sometimes it is fun to step out of your comfort zone and have some fun with your clothes. Afterall, if you can’t experiment during Fashion week, when can you? Also, its just clothes so it should not be taken so seriously. I enjoyed rocking possibly 6 trends at once.
